MY WORK EXPERIENCE
For this past week, I have been lucky to have shared a week with Planet Doughnut for work experience to build up my marketing knowledge for future roles. In this past week I have learned a lot, not only the production of doughnuts, but also the behind the scenes of what goes into selling these doughnuts, and the social media aspect of it all.
Kicking into the dough-tastic week, I had a tour of the bakery to see all the work that goes into creating these doughnuts, and admired all the organisation the bakery team has when creating these dough-lightful treats. From the classic bestsellers to their new summer range that dropped on the 2nd May which includes:
Berry To Be Wild (a strawberry daiquiri inspired)
If You Like Pina Coladas (inspired by the cocktail)
Fizz You Were Here (coke float inspired doughnut).

From learning how the doughnuts are made, i set to work with the marketing team to help to produce 3 new blogs and a newsletter for the website. This was especially fun for me to learn as it has widened my knowledge of the marketing world and how marketers use blogs, not only as a creative aspect to inform customers what we’ve been doing within the company, but also as a tool to launch new doughnuts. As well as for customers, other businesses can take a look at the website to see what recent companies Planet Doughnut has partnered with recently and if it is something their company would be interested in!
During my time, I was lucky to experience a trip to Alton Towers. It was a lovely day spent in the sun, discussing future plans with the team and ways we can help promote Planet Doughnut at the establishment.
After filming all the content for the day, we proceeded to make a day of being at Alton Towers, going on new rides like Wicker Man (which I highly recommend or the scary-coaster,Thirteen). Finishing the day with the water rapids and travelling back to the office to then head home!
Overall, I can say I have had an amazing week with Planet Doughnut! Thank you to Rob, Alice and the team for welcoming me in and helping me learn as I go on with my marketing journey.
