Planet doughnut has opened up in Widnes! Planet doughnut will be opening its 10th store on the 23rd of September in green oaks way Widnes.On the grand opening day there is an opportunity to get your hands on a planet doughnut Gold Card! By being one of the first 25 people to visit Widnes shop. The next 50 visitors will receive a free doughnut! The next 25 customers will then receive a free branded bag!

So whether you're a local, or coming down to widnes to visit make sure to pop into planet doughnut in the shopping centre. Green Oaks Way offers on site parking in the shopping centre along with many different shops to browse through.  One being our sister store Pandora located next door to our new shop. You can be sure to find what you're looking for! so whilst you're browsing for a friend or loved one be sure to pop in and treat yourself or them to a doughnut!

Getting to know Widnes

Widnes is an industrial town in the Borough of Halton, Cheshire, England, which at the 2011 census had a population of 61,464.

Widnes, best-known for its chemical industry and its Rugby League team, is separated from its near neighbour Runcorn by a narrowing in the river called the Runcorn Gap. The name Widnes derives from the old Danish 'vidnes' meaning 'wide nose', referring to the promontory of land that juts into the River Mersey here which creates a narrowing called the Runcorn Gap. Here are 5 interesting facts about Widnes...

1.) From Saxon times Widnes was part of the hundred of West Derby in Lancashire.

2.) Widnes is home to a mixed martial arts gym, the Wolfslair MMA Academy.

3.) Since May 2013 there has been an ice hockey club Widnes Wild based at the Planet Ice ice rink which plays in the National Ice Hockey League Laidler Conference.

4.) Widnes was then a Member of Parliament for Stoke-on-Trent for many years.

5.) Widnes became a Companion of Honour in 1975 and was invested as a privy councillor in 1979.
