In the historic market town of Newcastle Under Lyme you will find our 8th Planet Doughnut store alongside a Chopstix restaurant.  Its our first joint store that you can now get something sweet and savoury all at once.

3 Facts You Didn’t Know About Newcastle.

  1. Newcastle-under-Lyme was actually named after a new castle, which was erected in 1145! It was situated near Lyme Forest, and became obsolete during Tudor times.
  2. The Stones is the traditional market in Newcastle-under-Lyme, dating as far back as 1173 and operating on the High Street in the town.  These days the market is open six-days-a-week. However, to begin with, it was originally only held on Sundays, before changing to Saturday during the reign of King John. Now with over 80 stalls selling traditional goods, antiques, arts, and crafts. You will catch the Market right in front of our store! So when you are all shopped out be sure to come inside and have a drink and a doughnut break.
  3. Newcastle-under-Lyme does pretty well in beautiful gardens and green spaces. That good it became very successful in the Britain in Bloom competition. In 2005 it was crowned the national winner in the category of ‘small city/large town'. You will find plenty of beautiful, calm, green spaces and parks in and around Newcastle-under-Lyme.
